This is another in my series of easy contest/ recital numbers from the Handel collection “The ways of Zion do mourn” which was written as a Funeral Anthem for Queen Caroline. This was originally written for four voices but transcribes even better for four like instruments such as four trumpets. The Piano part is much more difficult than the trumpet parts. This would be an excellent number for a Middle School group. There is plenty of rests throughout.
The tempo is very flexible and traditionally is done at mm 64. I moved it up a little and it could easily be performed at a faster tempo.
I have recorded the first and second trumpets in the left channel and the third and fourth in the right to illustrate the antiphonal possibilities if performed on stage or in a church.

Parts included- Trumpets 1, 2, 3, 4, Piano alone and Piano score with trumpet parts.
