My last request before Christmas…I think!
I was contacted to write a quartet version of the 12 Days of Christmas and here it is. I didn’t realize there were so many days in the number 12! Each day has completely different music to keep it interesting (and take more time to write). If you are running short of time in your program, you can skip sections E, F, G or H and no one will miss them. If you’re a purest, play them all for each has its own personality. When I recorded this, I didn’t realize how much fun it was to play. I think this is one of our best arrangements as far as an audience enjoyment and fun for the players. The parts are easy to play but require careful reading. Each entry of the melody is indicated as “Solo” on each part. It is best to observe the dynamics in order to get the full impact.
If you don’t need this for this year, I suggest that you get it now anyway. You’ll enjoy rehearsing it at any time.
