This reharmonization of this well-known number was the product of my adventuresome nature. After I had completed a conventional arrangement of the Hallelujah Chorus I realized that it sounded just like everyone else’s arrangements and that is when I decided to “adjust the harmony” to something a little different. The length is the same as are most of the original melodies but the harmony and some of the motifs were altered to achieve a little more interest for the listener as well as the players.
Within this arrangement are inverted motifs, uncharacteristic passing tones and suspensions as well as questionable parallel motion.
Surprise your listeners with a more updated version of a wonderful work.
