We are getting a jump on Christmas with this one. If you have a Trumpet Choir, I would strongly suggest that you perform this number. No instrument can illustrate bells at Christmas time better than a choir of trumpets. I think this is one of the best arrangements I have written for a Trumpet Choir. Much thought went into the workload of the players for most of the phrasing is in four measures and the sections of players take turns with the playing. There are two high "D's" in this arrangement and I would prefer that they be played in order to get the full affect of the arrangement.
I usually do not write for groups this large but when I started thinking of the best way to present this number, it required 9 horns (5 Trumpets and 4 Flugels). From a players standpoint, careful reading of both notes and rhythms will be required.
This is not a sit down and play arrangement!
If you have a Christmas program scheduled and need a number that will be remembered for a long, long time, this is the one. Even your players will enjoy this piece.
