I fell in love with this amazing piece when I first heard it. Clapton is a master at beautiful guitar style chords and the flow of the sections seem to grow on you. The piece centers around the solo trumpet but equally important are the 1st horn and euphonium parts. I also found this difficult at times to establish the meter and phrasing.
The key might be a problem with younger players, but I had to decide on key or effect, and I went with effect. Due to the abundance of accidentals, the key is less of a problem than you might expect.
Even my wife loves this number which is a good indication that your listeners will enjoy it also.
