A new friend requested an arrangement of “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” for an Organ dedication at his/her church; so as usual I had to comply with this nice attempt. The opening fanfare/introduction is well written and should be playable by any self-respecting ensemble. I gave the organ plenty of opportunity to show its merits and brought back sections of the opening fanfare to create relief for the congregation as well as set up a nice modulation that even the worst singer in the church could follow.
