I have never liked the Star Spangled Banner…..at least not musically. It only seemed appropriate at sporting events. That’s what prompted me to try this slant on the number. This was written as a concert version and not to be sung. I have included two different endings to fit any situation. Ending 1 is for a dignified, soft and reflective feel and ending 2 is more of the BIG ending style. You can even use both and end with the big ending as a tag to the piece. I have also indicated on parts for “in stand”, "out of stand” sections to increase contrasts in timbre.
