I enjoy writing fugues for I find them very complicated and challenging. This one varies slightly at the end from a traditional fugue form in order to get a bigger ending. The last note in the fourth trumpet part is an F below the staff. To make this note possible, the player must push out their third slide to lower all notes using the third slide down one half step. All low Ds will then be fingered 2-3 and the final low F will be played with the fingering 1-2-3. If you are looking for something new for a recital or concert, this will do well. Every part has beautiful melodies which will keep the players interest.
