One of the best sources for great vocal and instrumental music is from the compositions of Handel and this is one of his best Arias. The original instrumentation was for a string quartet and with a great amount of tweaking, I adjusted it for organ. To say I made a few adjustments to the original would be a gross understatement. I changed not only wrong notes from the original, I moved the cello part to the organ pedals which would be impossible to play, even for a great organ player. I also changed many parts to the melody in order for the trumpet to be able to breathe when needed. To do this I moved some of the melody notes up to the organ part. Some may say that this is musically sacrilegious to which I say “sorry”. If you would like a solo which is not available in this instrumentation, I think it was worth it.
Whether you intend to use this as a great solo for lessons, a performance or just sheer fun, it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy playing some great music with a full organ accompaniment. You will receive the Solo Trumpet part as well as the MP3 organ recording with a three beat count off to get things started. I enjoy cuing this great number up just to make me feel like I’m in a church performing a wonderful solo. Great Solo at a great price!
